Calhoun to Host Dig Pink Fundraiser

The Calhoun High School varsity girls volleyball team will host a "Dig Pink" breast cancer awareness event in conjunction with Monday's MSG Varsity filmed match against Oceanside High School.

The Colts and Sailors meet at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium. Calhoun enters the game with a perfect 12-0 record, while Oceanside is 5-5.

Members of Colts’ volleyball team will be selling $1 raffle tickets to win one of several gift certificates to local stores and eateries. Dig Pink t-shirts are $10.

According to their website, The Side-Out Foundation is a support and advocacy organization dedicated to making a significant and identifiable difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families by supporting clinical trials, increasing compassionate support services and educating communities.

The Lady Colts volleyball players will be wearing pink uniforms in support of the "Dig Pink” movement and the fight against breast cancer. Admission is $3 per person.

Calhoun teachers will play in a staff game at 2:45 prior to the league game.

The game will air on MSG Varsity on Thursday at 10 p.m.
