Newsday [paid link] reported:

Police, now investigating a murder-suicide, responded to a 12:44 p.m. call on Leonard Street and were met by a 32-year-old man who said his parents were dead, Insp. Kenneth Lack said.

The man told police he came by the house to check up on his father, who hadn't shown up for work, Lack said.

The 60-year-old North Bellmore man is believed to have shot and killed his 61-year-old wife with a rifle, and then killed himself in their home.
