The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores held its Bellmore Barks contest on Sunday, giving our four-legged friends a chance to strut their stuff and decide who indeed is the cutest of them all.
Peter Ray, a member of the Chamber's board of directors, said that this event, which served as a fundraiser, was held as much for the the dogs' masters as the doggies themselves.
"This is a community event," he said. "We get members of the neighborhood to come on down, dress up their dogs, and have a great time. However, when we do it next year, we'll probably do it in April...it was a little too hot for the dogs today. But everyone seemed to have a great time."
Among the prize categories were: Cutest Dog, Best Groomed, Longest/Shortest Ears/Legs/Tails, Best Dressed and Dog/Owner Look-Alike.
