UPDATE: 4:50 p.m. The owners of the lost dog contacted Daniels, and Baby has been safely returned home. They lived just behind the office where the small white dog was found.

A small white dog named Baby was found wandering the streets of Bellmore.
Randy Skydell Daniels was at working at South Shore Restaurant Management on Jerusalem Avenue when Baby came up to the back door.
"I was sitting in my office, and all of a sudden, this little white dog came to the back door on the porch," Daniels said.
At first, Daniels thought the pooch was her next door neighbor's dog, but after taking a walk, that dog was spotted in the window.
Daniels said that the dog tag had a phone number on it, and it was a 757 area code, which represents the southeast corner of Virginia. There was another tag for the veterinarian, and Daniels called and left a message with for them as well.
The dog is described a "Maltese or Terrier-type."
