Local Students Named Intel Semifinalists

Three local teens were among 300 students recognized for their research.

Several Bellmore-Merrick Central High School students were recently named Intel Science Talent Search semifinalists.

These students were among 300 chosen for this honor. Each will receive a $1,000 award for his or her research. Additionally, their respective high schools will receive $1,000 to further excellence in science, math, and/or engineering education.

The semifinalists of Intel STS 2013 were selected from among 1,712 entrants. From this group, 40 finalists will be chosen to attend the Intel Science Talent Institute in Washington, DC from March 7–13.
