On Sept. 18 from 1:45 p.m. to 7:45 pm, the North Bellmore Public Library will be conducting a community blood drive.
There is no substitute for human blood, and library officials are urging residents to participate. One blood donation can save several lives when it is separated into its components.
Please sign up on the sheet that will be at the Reference Desk beginning Sept. 4. You may pick a time most convenient for you. The whole process takes about an hour.
If you would like more general information or more information regarding medical eligibility for blood donation, call 1-800-688-0900.
