Hundreds Attend Bellmore Chamber Christmas Tree Lighting

Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores hosts its 17th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Extravaganza.

Hundreds came out for a night of singing, fun and holiday cheer during the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores' 17th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Extravaganza in Bellmore Village last week.

This year's event included trolley rides through town, giving residents an opportunity to view decorated houses, a live nativity scene, horse and carriage rides, a performance from the North Bellmore Local Ensemble and a visit from Santa.

Liz Sendrowitz has attended the event for the last five years with her three children.

"I love seeing all the community coming out and being together," she said. "And hearing the children sing is sweet."

Debby Izzo, president of the Bellmore Chamber, said that even though less people attended this year, she is still pleased with the turnout.

"It was a little light, but it it is colder than it was last year," she said. "There is a lot of Christmas sprit in the air and the snow on the ground makes it even better," she said.
