The historical status of the Stevens House of Bellmore will have to wait just a bit more before being decided.
The nearly century-old home has recently at the center of a campaign by local residents to have it declared a Bellmore landmark by the Town of Hempstead (TOH) and restored to its original 1920's' era condition.
The landmark application, already approved by the TOH Landmarks Commission, went before the Town Board Tuesday. Officials decided to put off their decision until a later date, according to Town Spokeswoman Susan Trenkle-Pokalsky.
