Please, if you love animals, BOYCOTT the circus!?????
Go right ahead Tiffany, stand in front of the elephants.... The animals are treated better than some people are.....
paul March 11, 2013 at 05:44 pm
I guess you will not watch the elephants, but remember all the children with smiling faces that will turn to frowns if you have it your way........
I can see the headlines now: "NEIGHBORHOOD ACTIVISTS CLOSE DOWN CIRCUS"
marianne krause March 11, 2013 at 06:05 pm
Paul all i have to say to that rant is maybe the children should learn now how these animals are truly not there for their amusement, how using a bull stick hurts the animal leaves it scarred how these animals are tied up for their entire lives so we humans can gawk at them. The circus does not need them in fat the circus should go the way of the rotary phone it is no longer of any use nt that it ever was)

Brent M. March 11, 2013 at 09:06 pm
@Marianne.. see Im not even commenting on this one.. haha.. its too broad of an issue.. ha
paul March 11, 2013 at 09:27 pm
Yes Marianne you said it first that "YOU HAVE AN AGENDA"...
paul March 11, 2013 at 09:40 pm
To marianne krause:
Just to let you know I viewed your little video clip that was done by PETA. Yes the same people that would torment and terrorize a human being in Manhattan if they were wearing a fur. Now back to the video. It is called positive reinforcement/training. Some animals need to be trained using different types of items or equipment. Also, that video is fine, it shows nothing more than an animal such as a elephant being trained to do and not to do certain things. Either case don't you think for one minute that an animal such as an elephant or a tiger that if they were totally bothered by such training they would turn on the trainer? I guess you do not see it that way. May the circus continue for all ages to enjoy... Would you like to go with me, my treat? Just asking...
marianne krause March 11, 2013 at 09:52 pm
Agenda may refer to: Agenda (meeting), points to be discussed; sometimes refers to the list of topics itself;
marianne krause March 11, 2013 at 09:54 pm
here Paul let me stick you with a bull prod see if i can get you to conform to unnatural behavior or beat you with a whip so you won't attack yes makes all the sense in the world to BEAT the nautral instinct to protect itself
paul March 11, 2013 at 10:08 pm
Yes absolutely correct.......
Oh believe me they can attack at any given time... Did you know that the human skin is probably the weakest of all mammals....
marianne krause March 11, 2013 at 10:11 pm
and i firmly believe that some human brains are also the weakest of all mammal
paul March 12, 2013 at 12:33 am
To marianne krause:
That is so true. Their natural instincts are amazing. Survival of the fittest amongst themselves is something greater than a human can adapt to. Wow, see I actually agreed with you on something. Better write down the date and time... ;o)
paul March 12, 2013 at 03:45 am
The children were amazed to watch the elephants walk on by.
You should have seen those wide eyes and beautiful smiles..... Lets do it again next year....... http://www.mylitv.com/articles/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1149:long-island-childrens-museum-presents-circus-elephant-walk&catid=42:family-entertainment&Itemid=60 http://www.licm.org/EventRegistration.php
Cj Ellie March 12, 2013 at 10:57 pm
The Long Island Children Museum reminds me of the educators at Penn State who denied and covered up Jerry Sandusky’s abuse of children for decades. The museums knows about Ringling’s USDA animal violations and have been given pictures and videos of Ringling employees beating elephants yet they still partner up with Ringling every year to promote the circus as family fun. This is the very reason why children and animals are still being abused in the 21st century.
paul March 13, 2013 at 12:03 am
To Cj Ellie:
OK we get it, you are an animal rights activist we get it. IN NO WAY DO ANY EGREGIOUS ACTS AT PENN STATE EVEN COME CLOSE TO WHAT YOU THINK IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR THE TRAINING OF ANIMALS... Perhaps you would like to rethink your thoughts a bit and rationalize what you just stated. Why is it most animal rights activists put animals first and humans second. That I do not get...
marianne krause March 13, 2013 at 12:36 am
Why paul ? because they have no voice, because we as humans have to remember that everytime a species is lost we put ourselfs in peril. Why Paul? because abusing an animal brings us one step closer to abusing a human, its a proven fact that most killers start with small animals before they commit the ultimate act. We share this planet not own it
marianne krause March 13, 2013 at 01:14 am
what you call an attack is probably more a defensive move, animals except humans do not kill for pleasure
Brent M. March 13, 2013 at 11:11 am
... Its all about MONEY... BIG BUISNESS... and INNOCENT LIKE CASEY ANTHONY right Krause! haha
paul March 13, 2013 at 03:45 pm
To marianne krause:
How come PETA and other animal rights groups enjoy using OLD and OUTDATED stock footage to prove a point.... There are so many checks and balances for the animal trainers that people like you refuse to acknowledge. Perhaps, go to the coliseum and explain to them you are interested in knowing more about this topic and see for yourself not some old rhetoric....
Katharine Baptiste March 15, 2013 at 05:14 pm
My response never posted. In short the elephants lack adequate exercise, and suffer from arthritis and metabolic bone disease. Also the elephants lack the social and mental stimulation they would receive in the wild, or in a nature preserve. I am a trainer, and those animals are not trained using positive reinforcement . They are trained by being dominated, and also suppressed of their natural behaviors. The elephants are controlled using tazers and shock therapy. Wild animals have no place being in a circus. They belong in the wild. They aren't pawns for children's amusement. Children deserve to be educated about animal conservation and welfare.
paul March 15, 2013 at 05:27 pm
OK so you are saying we should have these trained animals let loose back into the wild.
To late they have been trained to be tame and will not survive in the wild.. It is like people keep wanting to knock down trees in wooded areas just to build a home. They then want to know why there are wild animals like bears, and deer around them. It is also like building houses on beaches closer and closer to the ocean so they build sand dunes and dams to keep the water away and then complain as to how they get flooded.. Stop the insanity, these animals are probably treated better than humans and will have a good life...
Brent M. March 16, 2013 at 01:23 am
I know a few people that arent trained well either.. can we let them back in the wild too?? Kids that are dominated and made to live in fear ... it is what it is..
Brent M. March 16, 2013 at 01:24 am
with the animals.. I know some parents that need to be sent back into the wild..

Natalie. I am so sorry to read this. I too have a little 5 yr. old dog who I love desperately...Read More and I feel your pain. There is another website for an organization that does an amazing job finding lost pets. It's LOSTMYDOGGIE.COM There is a small fee, but they get signs up all over the area and have a phone system set up where everyone in the area of where she was lost gets a PHONE CALL ALERT message to watch for Molly. They leave a phone number and their website address so if anyone has seen her or has her they know where to call. Great system! Check it out! I've never used them, but I HAVE received calls myself recently on 2 separate lost dogs and I've seen the many photos they hung up in my area in Levittown for dogs lost within a few miles of this area. In other words, they DO what they say they will do to help find Molly. Just want you to know what is out there to help you bring Molly home. My grandkids go to school around Grand and Camp Ave. We'll be watching for her! God Bless and good luck! I'm sure she will be returned to you real soon!!
