This month, Ellen Kehrli-Steinberg, a realtor for Re/Max Hearthstone picked this home for it's yard appeal.
Homeowner Joe Forte and his wife, Lisa, have put their heart into making this yard a smash hit.
When they first bought the home seven years ago, the yard was full of skinny, ugly trees and uneven land but the potential was there.
They had the trees taken down, most were dead and had the land leveled, which was a huge undertaking. Then they got to work on planning and envisioning how the yard would be most appealing. Aside from the in-ground pool is multi-decking and use of outdoor area rugs and some plants, patio furniture and arbors.
Lisa's vision of making the yard welcoming included the use of sheer curtains that fall around the seated areas under the original deck. This is a simple, yet elegant, way to make an outdoor space cozy. Now, this yard has fantastic appeal.
What brought it all together was their eye for detail. A yard or outdoor space can be transformed easily with a little imagination and not a lot of expense.
Flowers (potted if you don't want to dig in the dirt), colorful cushions, sheer fabrics and outdoor area rugs can liven up a space.
Garage sales in the spring and summer often have outdoor items that can be re-used and often in excellent condition. Something as simple as painting some old furniture or a cement patio can give new life to your backyard. Let this amazing yard be your inspiration to get out there and have a blast at home.
Congratulations to Lisa and Joe for making their yard a smash hit.
