Allison Castellano, of Merrick, has been added to SUNY Old Westbury’s Sports Medicine Staff.
Castellano has spent the last three years as an assistant to the head athletic trainer at Nassau Community College, where she worked with 11 sports, ranging from men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, baseball, football, softball and wrestling. Since 2008, Castellano has provided medical coverage for the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse.
Castellano received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland in athletic training in 2009. As an athletic training student at SUNY Cortland, she worked with the sports of men's and women's swimming and diving, men's ice hockey, women's lacrosse in addition to men's and women's track and field at Cornell University while also servicing Cortland High School.
Castellano graduated from
Sanford H. Calhoun High School in 2005, and she’s a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, District 2, New York State Athletic Trainers Association and Cortland State Athletic Trainers Association.
A 2009 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Castellano recently achieved her NATA-BOC certification in August.
