PREVAIL Teams Up With GIFT OF LIFE BONE MARROW FOUNDATION For 2014 Walk for Life:

On Saturday, September 14, 2014, two organizations are coming together to help put an end to blood cancer.

The 2014 Walk for Life: Long Island, held at Eisenhower Park at 10am, will bring together those from all over Long Island who have dealt

with the effects of leukemia, lymphoma, and other inherited blood cancers. The Walk is the only event in the area that is solely devoted to

raising awareness and funds for bone marrow and blood stem cell transplants.

PREVAIL is dedicated to helping cancer patients physically, mentally and financially. The Suffolk County-based foundation was created in 2009

by Dustin Wunderlich, a 25 year-old Nesconset resident diagnosed with leukemia. Its purpose was and still is to help others PREVAIL when faced

with a similar journey. In 2013, Dustin passed away. However, his energy, vision, and stubborn refusal to allow sickness to define him continue to

live on in the organization's commitment to help others struggling with the same disease.

GIFT OF LIFE BONE MARROW FOUNDATION helps children and adults suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic disorders find "their match":

anonymous life-saving donors for blood and marrow transplants. As an internationally known volunteer registry of donors that is located in the USA, the

vision of Gift of Life is simple: A match. Anytime. Anywhere. For anyone.

All members of the community are encouraged to participate in this Walk for Life. Whether it is through registering to walk, supporting others who will, or

even swabbing your cheek to join worldwide registry and become someone's match: every contribution matters, no matter how big or how small. The funds

raised will be used to add new prospective donors to the worldwide bone marrow registry. Registering just one volunteer donor costs $60 in processing fees. It is the generosity of others that allows us to continue our lifesaving work.
