    Donations are needed to expand and enhance its programs and services offered throughout the year.

    Since 2005, the Vietnam War Veterans Association has been assisting United States veterans in need in Bellmore and theMore surrounding area. This organization, founded by veterans, both sponsors and participates in numerous yearly canned and dry food drives aimed at helping homeless and needy veterans. Most notably, the Association participates in the bi-annual Nassau County Veterans Stand Down, where veterans are provided with food, clothing and haircuts. Meetings take place on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except for December and August) at the North Bellmore American Legion, located at 1298 New Bridge Road.
