Key Accomplishment: Kaplan is a first time varsity swimmer and is a member of the relay team that placed first in the Nassau County Championships in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team set a new Nassau County record of 1:39:47.

Key to Awesomeness: Kaplan, a ninth grade student at Kennedy High School, has already proven herself to be an outstanding scholar athlete. She is enrolled in honors and advanced courses in science, math, and foreign language. She plays the viola in the school orchestra and is a member of the Key Club. Outside of school, Kaplan swims for the Long Island Aquatic Club (LIAC) six days a week.
