North Bellmore Woman Who Allegedly Killed Ex-Husband Arrested for Beating Mother

Nancy Boland was arrested on Monday for allegedly beating her mother, according to a Newsday report.

Nancy Boland, a North Bellmore woman who was arrested in November 2011 for killing her ex-husband and then dumping his body in the woods along the Wantagh State Parkway, was arrested Monday for allegedly beating her mother with an aluminum cane, according to a Newsday report.

Boland, 56, is charged with second-degree assault, said Robert Clifford, spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney's office. He said that about 10 p.m. Monday, Boland got into an argument with her mother, Marie Wieden, 83, at the Oakdale home they shared and beat Wieden on the head, face and arm.

Wieden was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was treated for bruising and a broken nose, Clifford told Newsday.

Until Monday night, Boland had been free on $1 million bond after being charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of her 58-year-old ex-husband, Walter Boland, according to Newsday.

According to New York State Police, an investigation revealed that Walter Boland was stabbed after a dispute with his ex-wife at the residence they shared in North Bellmore on Nov. 16. Police said that they believed that Boland never received medical attention and died on Nov. 17.

Nancy Boland removed the victim's body from the residence and disposed the body on the Wantagh State Parkway bike path, where he was found on Nov. 18.

Police said Nancy Boland confessed to the crime. Her lawyer, David Besso, told Newsday that Boland was staying in North Bellmore while she and her mother were renovating their Oakdale home and that they recently moved in the house.
