North Bellmore Teens Arrested for Burglarizing Home

Two men arrested after forcefully entering a Sayville home and stealing cash and cell phones during a poker game.

Two North Bellmore teens were arrested Saturday morning for allegedly breaking into a Sayville home and stealing cash and cell phones.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, seven people were playing poker inside a home in Sayville when a man knocked on a side door of the home. The homeowner did not recognize the man and did not allow him in. When he left the room to check on his family, two men forcefully entered the home through the side door.

According to police, the men displayed what appeared to be a gun and a knife and demanded cash, cell phones and keys from several people. The homeowner heard the commotion and called 911 at 2:15 a.m.

Police Officers William Boyd, John Rea, Eric Seymour and Doug Cota arrested Key Martinez, 17, and Bryan Urena, 18, both of North Bellmore, after a short foot pursuit. 

Suffolk County Fifth Squad detectives charged Martinez and Urena with burglary first Degree and two counts of robbery first Degree. The two men will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Sept. 5.
