The independent film "Jesse," largely shot and set in Bellmore, made its premiere on Friday, April 15, at the SOHO International Film Festival in New York City.

During its production, the film made headlines by attracting A-list actors including Armand Assante, William Forsyth and Eric Roberts to co-star in the film. Cast and crew filled the red carpet at the Quad Cinema to see the world premier of the film.

The film's director, Fred Carpenter, said he plans to take "Jesse" on the film festival circuit. It will make its Long Island premier at the Long Island International Film Expo at the Bellmore Movie Theater in July.
