Feb. 1: Black History Month Begins, Grand Larceny, Bike Locker Lottery

  1. According to History.com, Black History Month, which begins Wednesday, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history.   2. A Melville man was arrested Tuesday for Grand Larceny after he deposited more than $218,000 in checks into a TD Bank account in East Meadow between Oct. 31 and Nov. 23, 2011, police said. For the full story, click here.
