Elmont Man Arrested in Bellmore for DWI, Leaving Scene of Accident

Angelo Graci provided a positive breath sample of .22 percent blood alcohol content, police said.

 

An Elmont man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries on Sunday night in Bellmore, New York State Police said.

Authorities said that were called about a two-car accident on the westbound side of the Southern State Parkway near the Newbridge Road exit at 10:45 p.m. When they arrived at the location, they saw Angelo Graci, 61, of Elmont fleeing  northbound on Newbridge Road on foot.

After an investigation, police found that Graci was driving a BMW when he struck a Lexus from behind and then left his vehicle and fled on foot, police said.

Graci provided a positive breath sample of .22 percent blood alcohol content. The driver of the Lexus and his two passengers were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Graci was arrested for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and traffic violations.
