Bellmore Rabbi Secretly Filmed With Prostitute

Avraham Rabinowich, of the Bellmore Jewish Center, allegedly made appointments with prostitutes on the Sabbath after services.

According to reports in the New York Post on Monday, Rabbi Avraham Rabinowich, of the Bellmore Jewish Center, allegedly arranged appointments with prostitutes on the Sabbath shortly after services.

The Post reported that Rabinowich's estranged wife, Amora Rachelle, learned of her husband's activities and managed to secretly videotape one of the appointments while the couple was going through a custody battle. The video was filmed in 2006.

"Since when are prostitutes kosher?" Amora told the Post Monday. "He was coming to court claiming he was this pious individual, but he was using the phone on the Sabbath to meet prostitutes."

According to the Post, a judge decided that the video was not relevant to the custody case and the couple were granted joint custody of their three boys earlier this year.

The Bellmore Jewish Center refused to comment on the issue and a phone call to Avraham's lawyer, Jeffrey Lewisohn, was not immediately returned.
