The Junior Girl Scout Troop 915 of Bellmore will have a cookie sale, "Operation Cookie," on Sunday to reach their goal of sending 5,000 boxes of cookies to troops overseas. Soldiers from the U.S. Army will take pictures with the public at the event.

"We want to bring a little bit of home to these brave men and women," Patricia Miller, troop leader said.

The booth sale will take place at Stop & Shop on Jerusalem Avenue and Newbridge Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The soldiers will be at the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
